Commodore Builders today announced that it will construct a 3,000 square foot environment as the new home for a pair of 250-pound rescued black bear cubs at the Stone Zoo, in Stoneham Mass.

The black bear habitat, which is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend, will include a waterfall, three wading pools, boulders, grass, and several evergreens, said Marshall K. Judges, chief operating officer of Zoo New England.

The Stone Zoo is building a $750,000 habitat to house a pair of 250-pound black bears that will go on exhibit this spring.

Commodore Builders is the construction manager for the project.
