When CGM Funds
decided to renovate their Newbury Street offices, the challenge was
to meet an aggressive budget while maintaining an upscale, classic
look. The 8,000 SF renovation took place over seven weeks.
Pre-construction planning was essential and played a key role in
identifying the long lead items to be preordered. The exterior of
the Newbury Street building reflects the style of historic Boston, a
design theme carried throughout the interior space. The 8th
floor offices combine rich burgundy tones with floor-to-ceiling
glass and cool blue walls.
To remain
within budget, elements including the stone tile, drywall and
pieces of glass wall were all re-used. A new lighting system was
installed throughout the space, along with minor mechanical
upgrades. The conference rooms and offices are enclosed by glass
walls. A signature “bubble wall” of ceiling-to-floor curved glass,
installed in waves, enhances the unique style of the space. The
Commodore team managed the fast-track schedule and adhered to an
aggressive budget without any compromise in quality. |
