This design-build project was executed within the sensitive environment of an occupied vivarium, with additional tenants adjacent to the space. The project scope included the construction of seven animal holding rooms, each equipped with custom floor drains and epoxy floors. The environment required the installation of a substantial, highly efficient air filtration system with steam humidification. The electrical and plumbing systems were upgraded and a RODI water system was installed. To ensure that odors did not travel beyond the animal holding rooms, a gasgeted ceiling system was installed. Walls were extended to the underside of the deck and existing drywall was reinforced. Throughout construction, noise and vibration were minimized to maintain the uninterrupted operation of the facility.
