EZ Storage is the
largest self-storage company in the Maryland, Washington, DC and
Virginia region, with a new location at 145 North Beacon Street, in
Boston. Commodore’s confidence to take charge is what motivated this
out-of-town-owner to choose us as their Construction Management
partner. We were brought on board early in the construction process
to assist with city approvals and with the permitting process.
Located in a
congested urban area, Commodore implemented an abutters’
notification program throughout the project, to facilitate community
relations. We also developed an iron-clad traffic management plan to
ensure pedestrian safety and to direct construction traffic.
This 180,000 SF ground-up project contains 1,400 self-storage units.
There’s a showroom and apartment for on-site staff personnel
and a retail store that carries a comprehensive selection of
packing, moving and storage supplies. The structure required
new footings and the design integrates masonry walls with a light
gage steel framing system. Other significant work included a new
drive-thru for tractor trailers and new MEP and fire protection
systems. |
