FLIR Systems is a world leader in the design, manufacturing
and marketing of thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems.
Just as their lease was expiring, FLIR was outgrowing their
space. Commodore was chosen as the Construction Manager to renovate
their new facility at 25 Esquire Road, with the confidence that we
would meet the critical 12-week, fast-track schedule.
The relocation and expansion project consisted of
renovations to a former semiconductor facility, and modifications to
an existing 20,000 SF clean room to house FLIR’s manufacturing
process. The MEP infrastructure needed work. The facility required
reconfiguring. The sprinkler coverage was modified to bring it up to
code and selective finishes were upgraded. The new facility includes
administrative offices, R&D laboratories and production spaces.
During the existing conditions review, Commodore discovered
excessive moisture penetrating the slab of the new facility. The
Commodore team responded immediately and was able to solve the
problem without delaying the 12-week construction schedule.
“Commodore Builders assembled an excellent team to implement what
was not an easy project”
- Robert Lovrud, Design-Science
