Gale, an
international developer, recognized the value of an experienced team
when they selected Commodore Builders to renovate their Boston
Headquarters. With an extensive portfolio of projects already
completed at One Post Office Square, Commodore was well positioned
for Gale’s fast track build-out.
The new space features a world class design to accommodate their
clients from around the world. State-of-the-art tel/data equipment
was installed and a grand limestone reception area was prepared to
showcase elaborate models of their work around the globe.
The owner and the
architect worked collaboratively with Commodore to identify quality
materials that would be immediately available. If a preferred
product was not available in time, the team worked together until an
equally acceptable alternative was identified. From the limestone
reception area to the exquisite board room, every element and every
finish was hand picked with great care. Gale had their heart set on
stone flooring for their lobby. The special stone originated in
California. When it looked like the stone might possibly be delayed
in transit, Commodore developed a route that allowed masons to
finish installing the stone on the day the client moved in.
The
state-of-the-art board room design creates a simple, elegant
atmosphere. Sheer fabric panels travel silently on tracks that slide
across the windows. The board room is separated from the reception
area by ceiling-to-floor glass walls and doors. Unique ceiling
details in both the board room and the lobby feature blue lights and
create a dramatic effect on the space. The lobby is designed to
highlight art that features Gale’s work. During construction, Gale’s
data center was in constant operation. Zero tolerance for disruption
was required to ensure round-the-clock international dealings. |
